This course is for Health & Safety Representatives and Deputy Health and Safety Representatives. Note: section 67 of the OHS Act 2004 entitles a HSR after completing an initial course of training to attend a refresher course of training in occupational health and safety for each year they hold office. This entitlement (s57) also extends to deputy HSRs. The HSR in consultation with their employer also has the right to choose the course of training they attend. (This course is suitable for workplaces covered by the Victorian OHS Act 2004. Commonwealth employees should enrol under an approved Commonwealth course.)

Description:
This course is designed for Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy Health and Safety Representatives (DHSRs), providing them with the opportunity to revisit aspects of the HSR Initial OHS Training course and refresh their knowledge of the importance of OHS in the workplace, the Safe Work Approach and Risk Management Principles.

Content:

The course content covers:

  • Understanding the OHS Legislation and its application
  • Risk management principles and techniques for use in the workplace
     

This course is delivered by NSCA.

A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to participants on completion of course.

Unit of Competency

Certificate of Attendance will be issued to successful students on completion of course.

Delivery Method:
Training will be delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include trainer led presentations / scenarios.
