Language and Literacy requirements for the unit are: • Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments. • Reading is required to read and interpret signs and procedures.

Description:
The OHS Regulations 2007 require all workers on construction sites to complete a safety induction program and register with the Victorian WorkCover Authority. Individuals applying for registration must have completed a nationally recognised course.

Specific skills are required to achieve the performance criteria in this course these are as follows:

  • OHS legislative requirements 
  • Construction hazards and control measures 
  • OHS communication and reporting processes 
  • OHS incident response procedures

Unit of Competency

CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Assessment:
Upon successful completion of this course together with an examination, participants will be issued with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ and a ‘White card’.

Delivery Method:
Training will be delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include instructor led presentations / scenarios.
